SWATCH: Avon Nailwear Pro + in Caliente Couture

I'm sorry I've not posted in a while, but I do have a reason....I now have a job! Yay! I had my interview the other day and I had to catch the train there and as I didn't take my laptop, I couldn't blog :( I'm so happy I've got a job though, I start work on the 31st of this month - the day AFTER my birthday!

Anyway, the last post I did a mini Avon haul and I thought I'd show you a swatch of the nail polish and what it looks like! 

The colour is a bright purple from the Nailwear Pro + collection. It has a gloss finish and it's opaque within one coat - however, I always apply two!

I have to apologise for the absolute state of my nails, I didn't think they looked that bad, but the camera seems to have picked out the flaws! My cuticles are a mess and my hands have been dry for the past week or so, so I'll have to make sure they're in a better state for the next nail post!

As you can see the colour is pretty opaque and matches the actual colour within a coat or two. It lasts FOREVER! Normally my nails are great for a day and then they're chipping and looking a mess within a few days, this lasted well over a week in quite a good condition. It was also mixed with the Avon base coat that I got in my mini-Avon haul in my last post!

Savvy Avon purchases!

On of the many great things about being at home for the Summer, is that there's an Avon rep! I've not ordered anything from Avon in so long, so when I could flick through the catalogue....I got quite excited...

As I'm a bit of a stingy person when it comes to spending my money and especially when you buy something from Avon, have a look in the next months brochure to find it's been reduced...so I decided I'd only buy things that were on sale!

If you don't have an Avon rep, you can search for yours here, or alternatively, you can buy online. However, I don't know if it applies to all reps, but I get a discount when I buy from here...it was 20% this time anyway! So, it might be cheaper to get from a rep!

So, why did I buy this? Because it's purple. That is my only reason. I don't really own any purple nail polish, okay, I do. But it's a cheap-y horrible purple and this was reduced! I can't help it, I'm female, I have the compulsive need to buy something if I see that it's on sale! It makes me want it more!

Before I bought this, I had not a single base coat anywhere, the one I had...as I only had one, vanished into thin air! I don't like stained nails, so I decided to buy this...and since it was advertising at £3, I thought, why not! 

Avon Glimmersticks Diamonds Eyeliner in Black Ice: £0.99 (RRP - £6.00) 

Okay, I'm going to be honest here. I only bought this because it was 99p, I flicked to the back page and it said something along the lines of 'buy anything, get this for 99p' I'm running low on eyeliner and because it was quite sparkly, my inner magpie wanted it and I thought it might be pretty!

La Senza Secret Discount?

I find it difficult to find bras, most of the time they're not in my size, either that or they look incredibly tacky and awful! So whilst I was on the hunt for a strapless bra that I needed last weekend, I thought it would be impossible!

All of the ones I could find were £30 and I mean, that's pretty steep...I'm a student and for me that's what I have to live off for a week....luckily I'm at home for the summer so I had a little saved up! So whilst scanning the shelves and drawers I found a nice white one for £20.

I actually found one in my size....or at least I thought I did and I went to go and try it on. The assistant at the changing room said that she can check it fits for me and I'll get £10 off....I was a bit confused, as you would be! So I tried the bra on, she came in and asked me what size I normally wear. I responded '32D' to which she looked at me and said 'so why are you wearing a 32DD' - I was in such a rush to grab one in what I thought was my size I picked up one bigger...yet it was a perfect fit. She did a few checks and said it fitted perfectly and handed me a voucher for £10 off anything full price in store.

So, I got a bra for a tenner and I love it! Bargain! I don't know if this is a nationwide thing or what, but if you're ever in La Senza soon....make sure you try it on!

REVIEW: Soap & Glory - Heel Genius

[I posted this on my old blog just as I stopped blogging on that blog, so I thought I'd transition it to this one!]

Now that it's summer (okay, at the moment in the UK it's raining...we had our summer last week...) you'll find you're getting your feet out more! That means that you need to keep on top of your toenails and making sure that you're feet aren't dry and cracked. 

To save you time looking the shelves for something that'll moisturise your feet, I've found you something - Soap & Glory - Heel Genius. 

I bought this from Boots and it cost £5.50 which is about the standard Soap and Glory kind of price range. Similar to The Scrub of Your Life, also by Soap and Glory - which I reviewed here, it's not a product I'd use everyday, so I feel that it lasts me longer!

It's quite thick and moisturising, and some people have commented that they're not fans of the smell - but I think it smells fine, not an 'it'll do' kind of fine, a standard foot cream smell..I guess. Now, the problem with this product is that you have to apply it to your feet and then you put on socks - now, I for one, don't like to wear socks in bed at night....so I have tried and tried different ways to get away with not doing this, but sadly it doesn't have the same effect. However, take off your socks in the morning and your feet are nice and soft!

I've also tried it in the morning, I put the cream on and then put my socks on and sat around for a bit - anything to try and get away with not wearing socks at night! Sadly, it doesn't work as well, so looks like I'll have to put up with socks at night if I want nice soft feet!
